Congratulations to Karlie who is our Student of the Month for March!!! She was recognized for showing the characteristics of Citizenship this month!!
This week, we read 5 chapters of our new story, "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler." What a great story about two siblings who run away from home and spend time in the Metropolitan Museum of Art! I can't wait to hear about their adventures as we read chapters 6-10 next week! Remember, we will not have a Selection Test over this story, but we will tak an AR test. This week, we also studied vocabulary from the story and took a vocabulary test over the first 5 chapters (10 words) today.
We also studied many compound and longer words for our spelling lessons and test this week. These words were pretty tricky, but we did a good job studying and learning this words.
For math, we're working through the lessons in chapter 7, which focus on a review of multiplication. Next week, we plan to finish this chapter and have test either at the end of the week or the beginning of the following week. Today, we completed our Estimation Jar activities and recognized Preston as our winner!
State Assessment Testing will start on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday next week. Make sure you're going to bed early and eating a healthy breakfast, which is especially important on testing days. We want to do our very BEST!!!
Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend with your families!!! I know I'll enjoy spending time with mine and I will look forward to seeing you all on Monday!!!
