We worked on our pumpkin book by measuring our pumpkin, writing nouns to describe our pumpkin, and sampling pumpkin foods. When that was all finished, we got to carve our pumpkins with our groups to erupt them after lunch. We used baking soda and vinegar inside our pumpkins, so they fizzed up and erupted out of the jack-o-lantern's mouth to make it look like they were puking! Eww! Each eruption got just a tad bit bigger and we all thought it was pretty cool!
We ended with a stellar Halloween party. We painted our own cookies, made paper plate crafts, and ate some tasty treats. After our party we ended the day with a chance to clean things up and some recess to get some of that extra sugar out! You can check out pictures from the party on our PICTURES tab!
I gave you a little Halloween treat of no reading tonight because I figured lots of you would be out trick-or-treating tonight. See you tomorrow, ghostly girls & boys!
