After this we had just enough time to make a daily 5 choice, look at our NEW spelling books for this nine weeks, and then it was time to get to work on our CLASS VOLCANO! Before we could start with the gluing though, we found time amongst all this work, to fit in a trip to BROOKEDALE to trick or treat so that the residents there could check out our costumes! We did a GREAT job and were sure to tell all of them HAPPY HALLOWEEN while we were visiting! I think we had just as much fun as the residents did because we ALL were smiling when we finished this trip! Brookedale sure is a special place for us and we try and visit people there every chance we get! It is so nice that they are only a few blocks away from Ike!
As soon as we got back we went right to work on our VOLCANO! The sky is almost finished. All of our LAVA has been glued down. Some of the ERUPTION debris has started to fall in the sky. EVERYONE is doing their part to make this look AWESOME! Today, I think we decided on MOUNT DESTRUCTO! You got it, this volcano is bound to destroy anything in its path if it erupts! I am hoping we can finish it up tomorrow so that we can hang it in the hallway for all of Eisenhower to enjoy!
We worked on the volcano up until recess and lunchtime! We do want to send a HUGE shout out out to the THOMSONS because Addi and Gracie's mom and dad brought in pizza and drinks so that we could all eat together in the classroom for Halloween! It was a GREAT time and I LOVED all of the THANK YOU'S I heard! We sure love it when you at home can come share in a celebration with us and let me tell you this pizza sure hit the spot today!
After lunch, we had about 30 minutes to work on REFLEX, DREAMBOX, our MATH MENU, our CLASS VOLCANO, and our CLASS DOOR for the red ribbon week contest. Jeeze, even looking at that list makes me tired! Kids were spread out among all of these projects and like I told them we were taking a short time to DIVIDE AND CONQUER! We still need to wrap up the door and the volcano, but I know some people finished some menu things up and some took care of 100 more REFLEX problems! It was WORK, WORK, WORk and then time to clean up and head to the library for the HAUNTED HALLWAY!
Our library is AWESOME and we sure appreciate them allowing us to come check out everything they have going on there! If you have a chance you ought to check it out because they are doing GREAT things there and they are open on the WEEKEND! To end our day we had an AMAZING team of room moms and dads come in and help us PARTY, PARTY, PARTY. We had so much going on in this room that by 3:25 my head was spinning and I think I needed a nap! We mummified people, adopted monsters of our own, made a Frankenstein to take home, got some yummy snacks to eat, played a pumpkin or ghost tic-tac-toe game, and oh so much more! It was time to go home before we even knew what hit us! We sure do APPRECIATE all of our ROOM PARENTS. They sure do know how to bring in the PARTY with a real bang! We couldn't have done HALLOWEEN without all of you that came in and helped out today! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all of your help! We still have some yummy brownies to enjoy tomorrow because well, quite frankly we just ran out of time to get it all done today!
Hope you have had a GREAT HALLOWEEN! Can't wait to see you all in the morning!
