After calendar book and OI and OY hunk and chunk work time, we were ready to travel to FRANCE to learn all about how they celebrate Christmas. We took off our shoes and set them outside our room just like the children in France do rather than hanging stockings. What do you know right before lunch when we checked our shoes we were HAPPY to find a few treats stuck inside. We also worked hard to make our version of a yule log cake to eat as a snack. These turned out super cute and most kiddos ate them right up. In the comments if you can tell us something other than the shoe and yule log Christmas traditions from France we will pay you an extra $3 at morning meeting.
In the afternoon things DID NOT slow down. We took our A Reading Fastbridge winter assessment. Then after PE and Library we split into a few groups. One group headed to Dillons to ring the bells for the Salvation Army. One group worked on our math menus, playing the games and taking care of a drawer that they didn't have time to do yesterday. One group worked on Dreambox or Reflex. We made sure that EVERYONE did all of the activities before we packed up for the day! This took us until about 3:10 but the what do you know, we actually made it outside for a short recess! That sure was a nice way to end the day!
I can't wait to see where we go tomorrow in our scrapbook. I also am excited to see your dress rehearsal for your music program! I am sure it is going to be AWESOME! You all sure sang your hearts out when you were ringing the bells at Dillons!
Hope your evening was a SUPER one. I will see you tomorrow!
