What a GREAT day for sure! The third graders were the class to bring in the most donations for the COLOR RUN today so they were the class who got to color Mr. Adams at our assembly! Boy was that FUN! Mr. Adams was an AWESOME sport and even took some pictures with us when we finished throwing cups of color on him! TOMORROW is the LAST day to bring in donations! We are doing an OUTSTANDING job so keep it up for ONE MORE DAY! Hopefully we will be the class that WINS the PIZZA PARTY too!
We also had a chance to hear from our PLAYER OF THE WEEK, Miss Lyric Cornejo! She ALWAYS does an amazing job in our classroom! I am super proud of her efforts this year in third grade! For her share time she brought her new puppy. She hasn't named him yet so we all tried to help her come up with a name! This puppy is one most of us wanted to take home! What a cutie! Thanks for sharing Lyric and keep up the FANTASTIC work!
In English we reviewed those COLORFUL sentences and then even had a class race. Miss Kate Haines was lucky enough to win a trip to the candy jar, a can of pop, and $10 of classroom money! She was the first person to completely fill her three sentences with the correct colors (parts of speech) dots. We are getting really good at picking out nouns, verbs, articles, adjectives, and even adverbs! Everyone wants to prove they are ready for a little fourth grade grammar!
In math it was more work with fractions. Our fun math dealt with marshmallows! Once again we had to determine the fraction of different colors we had in our handful, but then today we also had to graph our marshmallows before we could eat them!
Tonight they may need to finish:
1. A daily fix it morning work page
2. A journal page of math boxes
3. An English page over contractions
4. A page all about Eric from our reading story
Please do NOT forget that our track meet is TOMORROW! Send the kiddos ready to do their very best! EVERYONE needs a sack lunch and needs to be ready to run fast and to jump high! It's gonna be a SUPER FUN day for sure!
Have a great evening!
Yesterday I ran short on time and did not get to blog about our SUBWAY lunch. I do want to take a minute to congratulate these kiddos on their accomplishment of PASSING our DIVISION timed test! They have mastered ALL of their multiplication tests and then ROCKED division as well! Way to go Hunter, Deighlynn, Vivian, Kate, and Kendall! I have a couple more that are really close to a lunch date so KEEP PRACTICING those FACTS! It sure does pay off!
