I am hoping everyone gave Mrs. Clift their signed progress reports today, but if someone forgot please take it tomorrow so I know mom and dad have had a chance to see how school is going for us. The end of the second quarter is quickly approaching. I cannot believe that I can even say that! We've been so busy in third grade it just doesn't seem possible!
Our annual canned food drive started today. We will be collecting cans and seeing just how the Eisenhower Eagles can help others this time of year!
Friday we will be attending a woman's WSU Shockers basketball game. We are also going to be touring the campus. Don't forget that everyone needs to bring $2 to help off set the cost of the buses and on Friday everyone will need a sack lunch.
Next Monday, December 8th is our music program. I didn't hear the kids today, but I did before Thanksgiving and let me just say you are all in for a real treat! They sound GREAT!
I did have them start with our new story today. Check out the "Story of the Week" tab to see all of the spelling and vocabulary words. This story is a play so I have a feeling in the very near future we will be putting it on ourselves. I have some TERRIFIC actresses and actors in my room and so does Mrs. Elder. We are also wrapping up chapter 4 in math and will take the chapter 4 test this week on Thursday. Whew, that chapter was a tough one to finish with the break and with all we have had going on in our room.
A quick update on my family. My husband has been in admitted to the hospital, but is slowly recovering. We are where we need to be right now and tomorrow we should get some real answers and a plan of attack which will be GREAT. I won't be at school tomorrow, but am planning on being there at least a couple of days this week. I do want to thank the kids for all of their help. I can always leave them jobs and they do their best to help me out. I really appreciate that! I left them a note on their desks this morning that said, "The Town of Sweets Really Rocks" and I mean that with all of my heart. You have wonderful children and I can't wait to be back in the classroom with them!
