Mr. Tom and Miss Victoria from Exploration Place stopped by today to share their K'Nex! Many third graders were able to successfully build the ferris wheel model. Your teachers might need to purchase some of these awesome things because you all were SO ENGAGED and ON TASK when you were building. Very impressive.
We did things a little out of order because of the Brookdale Easter Egg Hunt. We did our reading rotations at 9:45, then walked to Brookdale to find some eggs! Gage Stewart and London Pourner were the lucky ones who found the GOLDEN egg for a special prize! We got back to finish up our reading rotations for our new story, "America's Champion Swimmer: Gertrude Ederle" and had some Daily 5 time before recess.
In math, we worked on line plots and a NEW menu! There's our old coding clubs to finish up, as well as a couple new activities in our drawers. We ended our day by learning about the Bonnie Plants Cabbage Competition! Our cabbage plants arrived at school and anyone who wanted to grow one this summer was free to take a plant home. The largest cabbage will be entered into the STATE contest to maybe win $1000! Who has a green thumb?
Tomorrow is STEAM Day! Students will be rotating through each classroom to participate in a special STEAM project. We will also eat sack lunches with our Families! It's going to be a great day!
