On Wednesday, you can bring a grown-up to school with you and have Breakfast with a Buddy in the cafeteria. We will have muffins and juice and you can shop at the Book Fair before school starts. I LOVE getting new books, and I hope you can get a new one while you are there as well!
We wrapped up our first 9 weeks of school last week (can you believe it?!). So today starts some brand new things for us in 3rd Grade. We are reviewing our old hunk and chunks this week so we can get ready for a new spelling book next week. We started a new story in reading. It's called Volcanoes, so do you think it will be fiction or nonfiction? Comment below for an extra dollar.
We also started our Pumpkin Books today. Some awesome parent volunteers brought some pumpkins to our classroom so we can do some investigations. Today, we measured the height of our pumpkin and used ADJECTIVES to describe the outside of our pumpkin. We can't dig in to the inside of our pumpkin until we complete the rest of our pumpkin book this week. Our plan is to have some PUMPKIN ERUPTIONS by Wednesday!
In math, we started measuring liquids in Liters and milliliters. We discovered it takes 1000 mL to make 1 L! We will work more with this throughout the week. We ended with a Halloween art project (inspired by our trip to the Art Museum a couple weeks ago.) I hope parents can see our finished products at Conferences tomorrow!
I can't wait to visit with your parents this week about all the awesome things we have going on in 3rd Grade! Keep up the great work!
See you in the morning!
