I want to take just a couple of minutes to brag on my class! I had 34 WEBSITE COMMENTS last night to look through! I LOVE the fact that they are getting on the website and checking things out! I also am super excited about how many of them shared what they are loving most about third grade. We are doing our very best to make the most of our day and to have some FUN while we are LEARNING!
Today we worked on finishing up our magazine activity from yesterday and also started on a pretty time consuming SUBTRACTION FACT page. We all should see a COOL SUPERHERO when we finish it, but the squares on it are small and there are quite a few problems so it might take us a little bit!
We also had our very first LIBRARY check out. Each of the kiddos had the opportunity to check out 2 library books. Today I let them check out any book that they wanted to read. They can take these home to read or leave them at school to read. Either way by next Thursday I would like them to have had a chance to finish at least 1 of their library books. Library check out is every THURSDAY so if you could please help your child remember to bring their books back to school those days I would really appreciate it! They do not get to check out NEW books until the ones from this week are returned.
This afternoon we had 2 special activities! We had the opportunity to visit with Miss Kansas and Miss Wencel taught us ALL how to draw a pretty neat superhero that we are working to paint! It was a FANTASTIC way to spend the afternoon. We decided we might try and catch a little of the Miss America pagent on TV in September and that Miss Kansas' crown was every bit as cool as Captain America's shield. We also discovered that even those of us who aren't too sure how to draw, can do it when the picture is taken a part and directions are given to us step by step!
Besides our Miss America and our painting project we also celebrated Miss Emma Amrein's BIRTHDAY! She was a great sport about wearing our class hat and it took her no time at all to gobble up her pixie stick. We all sang to her and then enjoyed some DELICIOUS cookies she brought to pass out! We do want to send out a GREAT BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her!
No homework again tonight! This week is flying by! It is sooooo hard to believe that tomorrow is already FRIDAY! Have a SUPER evening!
