This morning we started with a BIG SURPRISE! Our class has added a new member... MISS WINTER is our class bunny and boy oh boy do the kiddos lover her! They were super excited that she would be joining us and we had LOTS of fun with her today!
After our morning jobs were finished and our DLR and AGENDA was taken of, we jumped right into reading. Our MONDAY-TUESDAY centers are:
*Computer Time - here they listened to the story and then checked out the Spanish Heritage link on our website.
*Teacher Time - here they took the SPELLING PRETEST. The new list has been stapled in their agenda if they went here and the next spelling test will be on November 6th.
*Independent Time - here they worked on two sheets. They had to read "Trick or Treating" and answer a few questions and then color a mystery picture for me.
*Library Time - here they are working on SRA books #6-10. These need to be finished by the end of the week.
We will finish these centers tomorrow so you might ask them what two centers they went to today, and then remind them that if they don't finish a center they should take it HOME to finish as homework.
In math we worked on SUBTRACTION. I am trying to finish CHAPTER 2 up this week and I did like how hard they worked on this journal page. Before we had a chance to finish all of it, Diego joined us to CELEBRATE his birthday so we ended on a pretty CRAZY note, but we enjoyed Diego's mom coming in and helping us enjoy some cake and ice cream.
Tonight they ALL should have brought home their HOMEWORK PACKETS. These are due on FRIDAY and I reminded them today at school that they should NOT wait until THURSDAY night to do all of this packet. The best idea is to do a little of it each evening.
The other thing that is quickly approaching is our AR DEADLINE. October AR points are due on THURSDAY this week. I do not have very many kiddos qualified yet so please have them do some READING at home in the evenings. We will have our party FRIDAY afternoon and I would LOVE having them all able to participate!
Have a SUPER evening!
