However, your teachers were very impressed with how you handled Genius Hour and our first Practice State Assessment test. In Genius Hour, we finished up our climate maps and studied different patterns in the climate zones. The neatest maps will be hung in the hallway on display.
We also took a practice reading assessment as a whole class so we could learn how to use the tools and find answers for the questions. We were so impressed with how you remembered strategies we have taught you this year, how you looked back in the text to prove your answer with a highlighter, and how you flagged questions for review if you weren't confident about your answer.
By the time we did all that, our brains were fried and we needed a little time to just be 8 and 9 years old. So we had an indoor recess with different games, puzzles, and building materials. It was nice to relax and play together with our classmates before going to specials.
When we got back, we unlocked our last menu drawer to start making our museum rooms. We will use what we know about area from our last math module to help us with this project. We can't wait to see what you come up with!
See you tomorrow for a special House Challenge Day!
