We were able to fit in THREE Daily 5 rotations today! After Reading PRIME Time, we did some bartering practice with Mrs. Jenkins' items from the classroom store. We learned the importance to trading for items with value. When we didn't make smart trades, we didn't end up with a product we wanted. We also heard the story of Kyle MacDonald from Canada who made smart trades and ended up trading a paper clip for a HOUSE! Make sure you show your parents the ORANGE note about bartering on Wednesday with items from YOUR house.
After lunch, we practiced sequencing by writing a list of steps to make a biscuit pizza. The best part was while we were writing the steps, we were actually making the pizza to go along with it! We got to enjoy these scrumptious treats at the end of the day. I was so busy helping people with their writing that I totally forgot to take any pictures of this! DARN IT! Because our pizzas looked AMAZING!
Miss Erica came from Exploration Place and helped us learned about different types of dinosaurs. We created our own dinosaur out of toothpicks and marshmallows.
Don't forget to check the YELLOW note and PINK note in your folder as well. One is about Parent-Teacher Conferences and the other is about Interest Day and the Ike Parade! So many exciting things happening before our 1st 9 weeks is over.
It was a MAGNIFICENT MONDAY in 3rd grade and this week is gonna ROCK! If you can tell me something around your house that would weigh about 100 grams in the comments then I will pay you an extra $2 at morning meeting!
See you all tomorrow!
