We took care of Calendar Book and talked about our spelling rules, and before long it was time for Exploration Place with Mr. Tom and Mr. Patrick. We made our very own electromagnets and picked up paperclips, tacks, and push pins with our creations. Very cool!
After Prime Time, we finished up Chapters 9 & 10 in Mixed Up Files. We were so glad to reach the end of the story, but many students asked if there was a sequel or a second part. Unfortunately there is not, or else we could find out if the kids go visit Mrs. Frankweiler again! And we could see what it was like when the kids got home to their parents. And we could see if Claudia acted "different" when she got home. We have so many things we are still wondering, but we absolutely LOVED the way the book ended. And now we can take our Mixed Up Files test and visit our own museum right here in Wellington! Our walking field trip is tomorrow morning after the Character Counts Assembly, so we are looking forward to that!
In the afternoon, we got through our 3 math rotations. In teacher time, we worked on making a number line for our fractions. For an extra $5 at morning meeting, bring us a fraction number line that shows SIXTHS. You can make these at home on a piece of paper and bring it to your teachers for some classroom cash.
See you tomorrow for another exciting day in 3rd Grade! Tomorrow we wear GREEN for Green Eggs and Ham!
