We celebrated lots of great things at Morning Meeting today. Gage received the Spirit Award from the basketball game last week because he cheered loud and proud for all of the players. We also gave a chicken wing hello to Landon because we solved his riddle of loving cats. Our new rule for life says:
Whenever someone in our class wins or does something well, we will congratulate that person.
Mr. Tom and Miss Victoria from Exploration Place gave us a great lesson on magnets today! We learned about alike poles repelling and opposite poles attracting.
In reading, we read Chapter 3 of Mixed Up Files. Jamie and Claudia have officially snuck away from home and snuck into the museum. They successfully stayed hidden and spent the night in the French furniture room. We wonder what will happen tomorrow...
In math, we are still working hard on fractions. Today we partitioned different shapes into equal pieces, labeled each unit fraction, and shaded in MORE than one part. We practiced naming the shaded and unshaded parts. Every day we add a little more to what we are learning so we can get ready for our State Assessments! You will definitely see fractions on your test, but have no fear - your teachers are helping you learn EVERYTHING you need to know. You just have to have an open mind that is ready to listen and learn.
We ended the day by celebrating Kayden's birthday with some scrumptious cupcakes. Hope you had a great birthday, Kayden! See you tomorrow, super students!
