There are even more pictures where these came from!  Mr. Chalmers did a GREAT job catching a few memories for me since I could not be there!  I think today the boys learned a tough lesson for sure.  Behavior is important whether I am here or not.  I do want to send a HUGE shout out to my girls and Gavin because they did an EXCELLENT job at the trackmeet!  They were great helpers and on their BEST behavior which I greatly appreciate!  They were rewarded today with a SONIC drink and an extra recess.  The others are doing some sentence writing for me so that hopefully there is not a repeat of their behavior at the trackmeet on Wedensday when we head to COWTOWN.  We had a big class discussion about field trips and extra fun events that have been planned between now and May 19th.  I think they all understand that these things are priviledges and if they can not handle their behavior then I can not take them with us.  Life lessons are hard sometimes, but making poor behavior choices while on a field trip will not be tolerated.  I hope we won't have to have any more discussions like this!

We were very busy again today!  Exploration Place Science, MAPS testing, and PE took most of our morning.  We did take time to staple our spelling lists in our agenda because spelling tests will be on Friday so we all need to be studying those words.  Homophones can be tricky so we have to practice spelling them and we also need to be working on how to correctly use them in a sentence.  After getting lists in agendas we did work on a page out of our workbook to help us better understand the meanings of each of our words.

In math we looked at a short video to reveiw probability and then we practiced by laying out all of the clothing combinations we could put together from a dresser.  It got a little crazy, but we finally agreed that there were 16 possible outfit combinations.  Some of us weren't too sure you would wear blue and blue together but we finally agreed it was a choice so we counted it!  =)  The kiddos do have a math box journal page to finish up tonight at home.

Please be sure to fill out and return the color run permission slips so we can be ready for race day!  Tomorrow we will finish up our MAPS testing and then hopefully our testing will be done for awhile!

Sorry I am late getting this posted today!  I wanted to include a few track meet pictures and uploading those just took a little bit of time!  Have a great rest of the evening!

    Our Goal:

Our hope to encourage the children in our classroom to love learning the way we do.  Through engaging them in meaningful activities we are certain they will develop a curiosity that will spark their imagination and cause them to want discover all they can while in third grade.  We hope to be able to share, with those of you at home,  everyday  what we have accomplished in the classroom!  Trust us, we will be doing AMAZING things!
