For reading, we started a new story which we will be focusing on for the next two weeks. The story is called "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler" and is about two kids who run away from home and go on a series of adventures! You will have to ask your students about the story, as we will be reading a chapter every day and talk about vocabulary, as well as studying different elements of the story. We will not have a selection test over this story. Students will be taking an AR test over this book instead.
For math, we started chapter 7, which is a multiplication review chapter, as well as studying how to extend facts. The best thing students can do to have a successful test grade is study those multiplication facts every night!
For science and social studies, we place to have several different activities based on landmarks around New York City, as well as studying Michaelangelo and the Italian Renaissance since our story has his work as a topic within it. I hope you are excited to learn about this topic as I am! Get ready to start painting tomorrow!!!
If you have a READING CALENDAR assignment, make sure and complete it tonight!
Have a fabulous evening!
