While these positions are applied for by the students monthly, there are LOTS of ways everyone helps in the room. Weekly classroom tasks include a coach, an equipment manager, a grounds crew team, a team stats person, a boy captain, and a girl captain. We talked about not being disappointed if you weren't hired for the community job you applied for because classroom tasks change weekly and community jobs change monthly so lots of kiddos will get a chance to help out!
We continued with our READING CENTERS today and found out that Kayden Martin's covered wagon was the strongest. It actually held 200 pennies before falling down. That was 90 more pennies then any other wagon! I may have to travel with him! Everyone also took their first selection test. You might ask your child how he or she did! Several 100%'s which was GREAT! Later, in math we tried centers again! The kids did AMAZING! We worked with a new SPACY MATH link on our website, reviewed our game from early in the week, and learned ALL about bar graphs from me! Vivian Lin won our first ESTIMATION CHALLENGE! Way to go Vivian!
Just a reminder:
- Spelling test tomorrow
- The kids wrote down what they might need to finish up tonight, in their agendas. Please be checking those and signing them for me.
- Book orders due on or before September 3rd.
We have BIG plans for tomorrow! I think some of these kiddos are going to try and put old Amanda from our story out of business!
Have a GREAT evening!
